Peer Review Policy

The International Journal of Medical and Health Sciences Archives (IJMHSA) upholds the highest standards of scholarly integrity through a rigorous and transparent peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review, ensuring impartial and confidential evaluation by subject-matter experts.

1. Review Process Overview:

  • Upon submission, manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team for scope, originality, and compliance with submission guidelines.

  • Suitable manuscripts are then assigned to two or more independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

  • Reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, and vice versa, throughout the process to maintain objectivity (double-blind).

  • Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its scientific rigor, novelty, clarity, methodology, ethical compliance, and relevance to medical and health sciences.

2. Review Timeline:

  • The initial editorial screening is completed within 5–7 working days.

  • The peer review process typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and complexity of the manuscript.

  • Authors are informed promptly about the review outcomes.

3. Possible Decisions:

  • Accept without revisions

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

  • Reject (does not meet the journal’s standards)

4. Revision Policy:

Authors receiving revision requests must address all reviewer comments point-by-point and resubmit within the specified deadline. Revised manuscripts may be subject to further review before a final decision is made.

5. Ethical Guidelines:

  • IJMHSA adheres to the peer review ethics recommended by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

  • All reviews must be conducted with professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for academic standards.

6. Reviewer Responsibilities:

  • Provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest.

  • Maintain confidentiality and refrain from using manuscript content for personal advantage.
